What is, "What the Bleep Do We Know?" a documentary that can be view for free in youtube, and/or other internet sources. The documentary describes a different opinion of "Science" and how it explains the existence of matter and subatomic matter. Some critics state that this is not "informative, credible, and scientificly accurate." It offers another version of reality which is limitless. The other view point that basically states that the mind affects matter, and that emotions affect reality, perception. The "laws" as they are written in black and white are not absolute, anyway. Some consider it a "quackery" science, but a lot of people consider people who do not vaccinate, "quacks" and people who believe in God, "quacks" and all of us do not fit into a specific pattern.

Another thought that came to mind to me with the criticism is the fact that people objective opinions about subjective things are not really all that important. The world advances and changes frequently and we have "wireless phones" exist, "televisions" give us "live" images. It is interesting how things are wired, and not wired, but can work either way. There is a communication, a frequency and a vibration that is at work whether we believe that it works or not. I like the statement within the movie, "most people live today as it if was yesterday." Don't do it!

VBAC (PVDC)

VBAC stands for "vaginal birth after cesearan" translated to spanish, is PVDC, "parto vaginal despues de cesarea"

I want to share a website with you called ICAN and VBAC.

ICAN, stands for International Cesearan Awareness Network, which can be found at http://www.ican-online.org/.
This website shares tons of information about recent studies, information, and gives support to woman who desire to know more about cesearans, how to cope with them and/or how to avoid them.

VBAC is a woman centered, evidence-based, resource. They provide information to those woman that wish to have a vaginal birth after a c-section.

There are tons of information surrounding birth that is erroneous, such as CPD. CPD stands for cephalopelvic disproportion, when the child head is declared to big to fit through the mother's pelvis. Most of the time it is declared this way after the mother has labored for sometime, and sometimes they do it before the child is even born. There is an excellent article posted on the ICAN website about CPD, written by Kelly Milotay, which can be linked to: http://ican-online.org/vbac/cephalopelvic-disproportion-cpd. She goes on to state that many woman who are given this diagnosis go ahead and have vaginal births anyway. When your provider diagnoses you with CPD, make sure that he has a GOOD REASON, such as malnutrition in your past or pelvic injury, but even those conditions can possibly heal. When woman are allowed to birth in the position they want, instead of stirrups, CPD is not a problem and the elastic rubberband that the woman has and was provided to birth babies with stretches to make sure she can give birth and heal herself quickly and effectively.

CNM vs CPM

Depending on the experience that you wish to have,,and the location of your birth, you may want to decide what type of midwife you are going to have. A CNM and a CPM are both very trained and effective in doing their job, and I understand that in New Jersey, they also must consult an OB/GYN about your care, especially if they detect a high risk situation.

A Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) is an independent practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care. The NARM certification process recognizes multiple routes of entry into midwifery and includes verification of knowledge and skills and the successful completion of both a Written Examination and Skills Assessment. The CPM credential requires training in out-of-hospital settings. They normally have a more holistic approach to natural birthing, and do not have a nursing background.

Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) provide health care involving emotional and physical support to women before, during, and after childbirth. They are registered nurses with specialized training in assisting pregnant women and their newborn babies. CNMs must complete an accredited program of study and clinical experience in obstetrical care. Certified nurse midwives participate in a variety of services that include providing gynecological services like Pap smears and breast examinations, advising women about reproductive health and personal care, and monitoring the health of the mother and fetus during pregnancy. They also perform complete prenatal care including abdominal and pelvic examinations and evaluations. Another important service that CNMs provide is educating women and their families about childbirth methods, infant care, nutrition, and proper exercise. They work closely with obstetricians and other physicians when medical treatments and medications are necessary.

What is purple pushing?

Purple pushing, also described as Valsalva pushing, is when you get to 10 cm and the doctor and the nurses order you to "PUSH" but you are not feeling it. You are forcing yourself to push, but your body is not ready.

Many times they ask the mom to push, when is not ready, laying down, and in stirrups, where it may cause tears, and endanger the baby, because gravity many times is not helping, and a decrease of oxygen in the body to mom and baby can occur.

In Birthing Naturally, a post is dedicated to pushing, Birth Plan Options: Pushing, the break down "pushing" to three types, "Directed or Purple Pushing", "Spontaneous or Mother Directed Pushing" and "Exhale Pushing." There are benefits to directed pushing and the only one I see is for those that are managing labor, and want to get out quickly, the author states, "This style of pushing can be helpful it there is concern for your baby's health because directed pushing does decrease the amount of time spent in second stage labor." Now the side effects are, "directed pushing does increase the chance of a tear, increases the mother's fatigue and can decrease oxygen levels for both mother and baby." Spontaneous pushing decreases the chance of tearing, and Exhale pushing, helps the mother relax if they can coordinate the breathing with the pushing.

This blog that I found has a nice description about purple pushing. She describes a situation where you have eaten dinner, and than you are told go to the bathroom to poop...The logic is the same, you don't direct someone to poop, you just let them go when their heart desires...Purple Pushing: Just Say No

In this article, posted by Karen, called Pushing: Woman to Woman Childbirth Education again she goes ahead and talks about how impractical it is to tell a woman to push, when she is fully dilated. She explains that there is a latent period, and that there may be a period where "nature" is giving the woman a "break" before she has to push the baby out after enduring the contractions. I prefer this last blog as it offered a study of 39 first time moms that were allowed to do spontaneous pushing and had "intact perineums postpartum"

Again the same line is repeated, manage pushing helps decrease time in labor, but offer three serious side effect that anyone would like to avoid. Spontaneous pushing during birth: Relationship to perineal outcomes reached the following conclusion: “These studies indicate that the only apparent advantage of Valsalva pushing is a shorter second stage, which, on occasion, may be desirable. However, expediting delivery by forceful, directed pushing is achieved at the expense of three negative outcomes: reduced oxygenation of the fetus, more frequent trauma to the birth canal, and potential injury to future pelvic floor function.” The above study was published on February 12, 1999.

Another issue, discussed in the last article, is having an epidural. When you have an epidural, you lose sensation, and therefore you cannot feel when you have the urge to push. In this instance, you need to be directed, but again the dangers to the pelvic floor and perineum continue to be the same. An epidural is again managed labor, which with all the risks involved, most women should avoid and learn to trust and know their bodies.

Homebirth! and New Jersey

About 3 months ago, I discovered that home birth after a c-section is not possible in New Jersey. If I want to home birth, I find to find the home of someone in New York to provide me their home, to actually home birth...since they are the neighboring states, or find an underground midwife, or a traveling midwife, and pay out of pocket.

I am very disappointed and frustrated at the laws that are created to supposedly protect us. Is there a waiver that I can sign, such as those that I do with vaccines! Let me have my choice! I already know that my body can birth, why do I have to submit to your rules! I know I can do unassisted, but that was not or is not my plan at the moment.

My advice to you is if this is your first birth, hire a competent midwife, and have a home birth...HOSPITALS are not safe, but can be dangerous during birth for a low risk mother. These are not my words, but the words of many professionals. You have chances of having a safer birth in 30 plus other countries, than in a United States hospital.

Giving birth after a VBAC

Is certainly even more exciting!

The doubts that filled my mind in June 2008, are erased. My birth to Victor has empowered me, and given me the strength to know that another vaginal birth is not only a possiblity, but practically almost guarantee. The spacing as well, is almost the same as between the first two children, about 3 1/2 years apart at birth.

This time around, I am looking to see what I did during Victor's birth, all the blogs I posted and all the reading I did. Just because I did reading for Victor's birth, doesn't mean, that I'm not doing any this time around. I am again surrounding myself with hypnobabies material, positive birth stories, and affirmations. The lock needs to be tight, and secure for this healthy and wonderful pregnancy that I plan to have followed by a peaceful birth.

How to Get Rid of Nausea During Pregnancy

I have attempted to read and discover different types of remedies for this horrible feeling, which indicates that yes indeed you are going thru a healthy pregnancy. Remedies, sometimes work, sometimes you find temporary relief, and sometimes, it does dissappear....I had my days, good and bad...some better than others.

I found that this advice seem good...

Suggestions:
Meditation and deep breathing (hypnobabies did help me with my 2nd pregnancy, I haven't started yet, procrastination, but is only a 6 week course)
Walking away from the office and breathing fresh air for a few minutes
I have attempted to drink different teas (raspberry leaf, one of them)
Find a multivitamin that does not make me nauseau...
Italian Ice or Piraguas helped!
I preferred sweet or spicy food...weird I know, not in between!
When I remembered, homeopathy, pulsatilla!

Either way, it just came back after a few minutes, some hours, and sometimes, it just lingered with me the whole day...

I'm officially about 14 weeks pregnant!

Yes, I didn't tell you...the little pouch growing is a baby... and no, this Skinny Bitch (title of a book, you should read, Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin), is not getting fat, nor plans to...

This is supposed to be the end of the high risk period...and now the baby has a higher possiblity of making it to full term....

Pregnancy is a condition you can't hide, so might as well tell you now before you find out by looking at my belly and feel betrayed...how come she didn't say anything.

Those of you who have been pregnant, totally understand, except those who can't keep it to themselves...:)

A little life is happending inside....and is due in February....

On or about 7 years ago, I discovered that I was having a boy on the same day of his birth, it was confirmed with an ultrasound, August 3rd, 2004. I knew my whole pregnancy it was a boy, I had a dream in December right after I conceived that he was born with light hair, blue eyes, and light skin...and that bothered me because he seemed unreal, the only part I was sure about was that he was a boy...than I had the positive pregnancy test.

He had blue eyes (which changed to brown), dark brown hair, and lighter skin then me, and was a boy's boy! I had one chance to glance at him on August 3rd, and his father brought him once again to me at the operating table. I didn't get to hold him, or see him until about 16 hours later, they put me in this recovery room in which I was in and out of sleep, and couldn't move my legs. About five times, this lady came to ask me if I was sure I didn't want to circumcise...."NO, I DON'T WANT TO MUTILATE" my baby...leave me alone already. That experience had me traumatized and upset. I didn't know why it was happening to me, why I couldn't be with my baby. My legs were swollen, the pain was in the surgery area was unbearable, and some Chinese (or Asian) pediatrician doctor came to tell me that formula was safe, because I said that I didn't want my baby drinking formula because I wanted to breastfeed. I had to take the longest ride in a wheelchair to finally spend time with my baby, and it was so limited, but I focus on expressing milk which finally on the third day it started coming in bunches. Halleluiah! The breast milk started to flow, and Nicolas didn't need to be fed that formula anymore...

I came home, and I had to leave him in the hospital... I had to come home to look at all wonderful gifts that I received at the baby shower, but couldn't enjoy because he was still at the hospital. I was miserable for a few days, in pain, for having had pitocin labor for hours only to be cut for the c-section.

Finally he came to the home on Tuesday, August 10th. He had gained the weight he lost, and was as sleepy as ever. I didn't know what to do with myself; I didn't know if I was latching him on right.

I remember all this as if it was yesterday, my baby, is now turning 7 years old, talking to me, running like crazy, doesn't like to sleep late, always up early. He is my strength and joy. He is the one that motivates me to change, and sacrifice anything that I have to be stronger and wiser. Happy Birthday Nicolas...and know always that I love you with all my heart, from here to infinity!

The vortex, your wishes, the NOW

I have been reading and listening to a lot of information recently about the "law of attraction"

I came across Kevin Trudeau's "Your Wish is Your Command," I have been listenting to Napoleon Hill's Rare Recordings, I have come across many "You tube" videos of Abraham Hicks work...

Napoleon Hill said that he makes sure that he eats one "raw" meal a day, Kevin says that you need to do detoxes and cleanses once in a while, Abraham recording state that you need to stop thinking about your wants as if they are something to reach to, you have to pretend that they are with you "now", is a game that you pretend, align yourself...and all of them said, that your main focus is too feel good now...

Anyone who has read, or listened to or come across anything like this, understands everything that I just said, if you have something else to add, something else to show me, I'm willing to learn a new perspective on this whole feeling good now, and entering the vortex...

Affirmations are a challenge for me, and developing new habits, what are you doing in your life, to develop new habits, to change your behavior, to become more positive? What works for you today?

Some thoughts about breastfeeding...

If you are pregnant and want to breastfeed, go to a support group, like La Leche League, and learn all that there is about breastfeeding NOW! If you are a mom, just know, that I'm not upset at you for not breastfeeding, I just want people to let me breastfeed. It's the right choice for me, and many.

As an inexperienced mother, I took great pride in breastfeeding my first born son for 3 1/2 years. I felt a great power and satisfaction in that I am all my son needs to sustain himself the first few months of life. It really became to me a point where I feel confident about being his mother and happy about the options I took.

With this choice of breastfeeding, I run into a whole host of other problems. People who need to constantly offer and give their unsolicited advice. They give you advice about how much to carry your child, about what to feed him, about what to what to what…frankly after a while it all blends in, and nothing makes sense. What does make sense is that this is your child and you are responsible for their nutrition, their clothing, their emotional well being and a whole host of other things that comes with parenting. And what makes it horrible about the advice is that given with all the best intentions of the world, it may be incorrect.

My son was inconsolable. I felt I wasn’t making enough milk. I couldn’t put him down. I reached out to La Leche and someone suggested that I should not drink milk, it could be affecting the baby. At first I said to myself, get rid of milk, that’s probably the only nutritious thing I can eat on a regular basis. Wrong! I thought about my friend was on a diet where she lost tons of weight, by getting rid of exactly that milk. When I began to read and saw that this was actually a good option, I chose to do so but for a different reason. At every chance I get, I think of ways that I can include other foods in my diet that are natural and animal free.

I love natural things. I like things that come from nature. I like things that make me feel good. Breastfeeding is natural and it makes me feel good. For some reason, other people don’t like it. They don’t understand it, they don’t want to see you doing it, they think that it’s inferior and wrong. I have select to not give into other people desires. I read all the information. I pack myself with support from other people that are doing the same thing. I do what I want and what makes sense to me.

I planned a natural birth. I wanted to push, and say no to the epidural. The story changed, at about 34 weeks gestation, I was diagnosed with oligo hydromanus (low amniotic fluid). I was induced for vaginal birth, but after twelve hours of horrifying and painful labor, my son's heart rate began to drop. They suggested that he might be in distress and said that I need a ceasarian section. Shortly after my son was born, and fortunately he only spent seven days in the NICU and continued thriving and growing. Naturally, next time, I prepared for a VBAC!

It doesn’t work all the time! Things are not perfect! You know what! It’s going to have to work. As the good old saying goes, "if there is a will there is a way." It’s going to have to take its toll, happiness, fairness and honesty will demand it's place and that all I want. By the grace of God, I will continue to do what I can to be the best, live each day the best I can, and do what is best for us, for my children and I.

Why can't I finish it? Is it because within it it states finish what you start! He clearly says in the readings, that whatever you start you must finish because then you might start a pattern of not finishing things...This is a pattern that has taken over me...

Mostly every movie I start, I finish them...
What else do I finish....I can't even remember...but will I have to pick up every project I have started and say...I'm going to finish you now?

Ever since I had children, I have been unable to finish more and more....
I am glad that pregnancy and some actions take care of themselves...like breathing...but you know, I really didn't to finish my first pregnancy (premature induction at 34 weeks), on a good note, I did finish my 2nd pregnancy...

Okay, other than finishing...how can one make their mind focus on nothing!

This is my 2001 Nissan! Yes, this is still alive, is in the family! I thought I lost it when they stoled it at Lynnes Nissan with the spare key...yeah, that's the short version of the story.

What is a cleft?

Throughout the blog you may have heard me mention that I was the only of four children born with a cleft lip and palate. I was affected only on one side of the face, and I'm the only one in my family that I know with this defect. One of the reasons I blog, was to talk briefly about some of the frustrations that come psychologically and physically with being born with this particular defect. I think I mention this several times throughout my life.

Personally, I think I'm stronger because of my cleft. I think I'm a better person, more empathetic, simpler and nice. The torture, and the tears shed only made me want to be happier, and never a conformist. I participated in a play called "The Phoenix Cafe." This was a very emotional yet empowering experience for me. I want to tell you guys to check out the website of Foward Face, and support their cause. Forward Face’s mission is to help children with craniofacial conditions, and their families, find immediate support that helps empower them to successfully manage the craniofacial condition.

Cleft lip and cleft palate is a somewhat common birth defect found in one of every 700 newborns throughout the United States. A cleft lip happens when the lip during pregnancy fails to join completely. Sometimes it includes the bones of the upper jaw and/or upper gum. The same thing happens to the palate, where there might be an opening in the roof of the mouth. While the unborn baby was developing, these parts of the face may not correctly come together. It can occur at one side (unilateral) or both sides (bilateral). A person can be affected only on the lip, or on the palate. These can happen due to genetics and/or environmental factors. Many things can affect the occurrence of cleft lip and palate in a person. Someone affected by a cleft may need several different types of doctors, and services for surgery, orthodontic, speech, ear and nose, etc. It may last for number of years, depending on the severity of the case, and what is affected.

Tee Ball!

The game of tee-ball has helped my son Nicolas understand the concept of the game. He loves to play first base, and he has hit the ball pretty far, without the pressure and millions of instructions.

What is Tee ball? Tee ball is a game where a player his the ball on top of a inverted t is placed at the home plate, and the players learn to swing the bat. MILK IS NOT WHAT WE THINK IT IS!

They suffer each time that we sip a glass of milk! Imagine being pregnant for nine months with twins, then all of sudden you go into labor, the minute your baby girl and baby boy is born, they are pulled away from you and you never see them again. The separation anxiety begins, and a pump is placed over your breasts, to milk you like a machine, the engorgement begins, your nipples are sore and you start to get lumps. You get mastitis, and you are in pain. You are fed antibiotics, and your nipples crack and bleed. After a few weeks of a horrifying life, your baby boy is slaughtered never to see life again, and he died a scary death. Your baby girl is fed some other woman's colostrums, and she's expected to live a similar life to you now, expected to provide milk like a machine. And someday she will be artificially inseminated for the process, and fed growth hormones so she can do it as soon as her first menstruation comes. Your infected body fluid, with blood, several different antibiotics, pus filled milk is fed to other species. Your breastfeeding through machines, you are extra hungry, you eat what they throw on the floor for you each day. You live where other women are bleeding and milking just like you. All in close quarters, all eating excrement, and left overs. Something similar to this is what happens in corporate owned factories. Cows suffer anxiety from being separated from their calves. The picture is nasty, but if you consume any milk from a cow, or meat from any animal, that is what you are consuming. Anxiety, fear and death, pus, hormones and antibiotics.

What would you think if you knew that the food you eat is injected with penicillin. Now you are eating parts of penicillin, the same pill that you are trying to avoid. Your body is not a healthy one, and although you try to be in diets, none work. They do not work because you are eating these same meats and milk, which put to you in that situation. Read the pages of the Internet that speak about how a vegan diet can heal you. It helps you with the diabetes, you avoid cancer, you lose weight, and gain tons of energy. I feel with energy these days. I have always had problems with low hemoglobin, and it does make me weak. I have not felt that weakness in years!

Armando Torres Gonzalez Part II

Happy Fathers Day!

On the last post of April 17, 2009, Armando Torres Gonzalez, the first version, I had asked for suggestions, which I received all the answers to, not because of the post, but because the universe helped me find the answer in the internet. Many things have occured since that time.

We found his tombstone, in Kenilworth, New Jersey, as Nicolas put it under 2 feet of snow. Armando died in East Orange, New Jersey from obstructive pulmonary disease. His father was a cuatro player. He recounts vivid memories of his father teaching him how to play the cuatro. We confirmed his date of birth and death, and through an ancestry search I found his grandparents names, Domingo Torres, and Carmen Gonzalez, and the parents of Domingo, Carlos Torres and Maria Galarza. He was from Utuado.

I tried reaching out to his family, even found some names that are possible on facebook, but I have yet to receive a response. Maybe the mystery will continue to unfold, and we will know just how far out our tree expands.

I can't believe it has been now almost 3 years since my youngest child was born. We went to a well visit last week, and he is about the 30th percentile in both height and weight. He has been consistent in his growth journey and has met his milestones for a 3 year old.

The VBAC, throughout his pregnancy, I ensure to read tons of positive birth stories, use my hypnobabies CDs, and change from an OB to a midwife. I am fortunate that it worked, and I am happy I can live and tell the story about my sucessful birth that was unmedicated and natural.

The only constant in my life is change. My willingness to learn, and my willingness to change is never dormant, and I take on the challenge to change my life today, and everyday, for the betterment of my two boys, which I love with all my heart.

April 2009, I decided to go on a search for the immediate Torres family, the brothers and sisters for my significant other, and that prompted me to search within ancestry.com. During that time, not only did I find information about the Torres family, but I found information about the Monclova, Lebron, and De Jesus family. The Calo family stopped with the names of my uncles.

On or about May 19, 2011, I received the most unexpected message from a Calo family member. The website, geni.com, is a place where you can start a family tree, and your family tree recognizes names from other family trees, it begins to grow, and connect to other family trees that other family members started. My family tree, from my mother family side just expanded about 40 more names, dead and alive! I am very excited and happy that I can now share information about the family with more cousins around the country, so Texas, here I come!

Fortunately, last year I traveled to Florida, and was impressed and happy to reconnect, and connect with family that lived in Rockledge, Tampa, and Fort Myers in Florida. What is amazing is that I have family that lives closer, that actually live in New Jersey and close to the Bronx, and don't forget the other Long Island, and Staten Island, that I have not had in depth conversation yet, or did have a conversation with but have not had a chance to visit with.

No need to despair, the moment will be here, and I will enjoy getting to know more of my cousins and probably find pictures of what my great grandparents, and great aunts and uncles looked like. So my cousins, if you are reading this, please share your history with us on geni.com, so we can see how far and wide our family expands!

North Newark Urban Garden

I wanted to let everyone know about a new project I have been working on for the past month.

It is called "North Newark Urban Garden"

I have two friends joining forces with me, as well as any other volunteers, such as my kids, and my hubby. They have been very helpful and supportive of the idea.

The intention of the garden is multiple, but mainly it is a community service idea, to help beautify the neighborhood, create a bond in the neighborhood, encourage everyone to eat healthier, and provide the opportunity to learn about gardening, where does the food come from.

On April 9, 1920, she was born, a beautiful time of the year, during the springtime of the northern hemisphere.

Abuela Chencha used to tell me stories about growing up. She would tell me that she loved going to school, and that she learned how to read and do basic arithmetic. Her biggest struggle in school was learning to write with the right hand; well she was left handed. My grandma learned to write with her right hand, but she continued to do everything with the left. When she went to school it was not okay to write with the left hand.

She was a story teller, but I was too young to remember her stories. She told me what I know about my family tree, and I wish I was taking notes then. She retold stories about her childhood all the time, and somehow now I am drawing a blank. She was about 13 years old when she stopped going to school, to help her mother with the household chores. Not much longer after that she was forced to become an adult, as her mother died when she was a teenager. She was one of the eldest, and my uncle Paulino confirmed it in her viewing, "esa fue mi mama" "she was my mother" because Catalina, his mother died when he was four years old.

Grandma, I'm sorry you had to lose your mom at such a young age. I can't imagine how much she suffered and cried when her mother passed away because she spoke well about her mother.

Abuela Chencha dressed in white to go to church, and she happily sang, "" Los que han vencido, tendrán felicidad, esta es tu iglesia, que amaneciendo esta, ahí, está los que traen felicidad, un Saludo Aarón nos da" I can hear hear voice singing that song, and I can hear her talking, about los "entendidos"

She was an all around grandma, when my mother was at work she made me breakfast and a merienda for me to take to school. I was the least of the grandkids that enjoyed grandma because in 1985 we left to New Jersey, and she would always say, "a mi no se me ha perdido nada por alla."

Right before I came to New Jersey, I remember walking from my mother's apartment to grandma's apartment, every afternoon to have a cup of hot chocolate. I remember that I would bring a matchstick with me from my house, just in case she had ran out.

I loved the cornmeal, oatmeal, and anything she cooked. Her big size tells me that she loved everything she cooked too.

Abuela Chencha was a strong woman, and even though I met her when she was 58 years old, I still don't know many that are as strong as her.

Crescencia Monclova had good credit, and the last time she went for a loan, they didn't give it to her because she was too old, "I would be done by now with that last loan, how dare them tell me that I am too old"

She always kept her home clean, and I remember spending the summers with her. Every night before she went to bed, she would wipe the tables, ensure the dishes were cleaned, and the floors were swept and mopped.

Abuela Chencha is a queen in my heart, a strong survivor and warrior. Grandma I will always love you! Is your 91st Birthday, and may you who read this today have a long and strong life, thanks for reading!

Unschooling, what is it....

I am the parent who sits back idly and recognizes that the public school system is broken but uses it anyway, because of the fear mongering that occurs that if I leave my job, and that if I don't send my children to school, they will not learn what I need them to learn. Okay, maybe I don't really believe that. I do believe that I would have a hard time surviving in commerce if I leave my job, that is my biggest fear. How do I get away from that fear? I have no clue.

Everyday, I am thinking about alternatives, things that I can do different...however, something is holding me back. The movie keeps playing in my head, over and over. I have to move that movie, and take control of that soon, before it continues to control me...essentially I need to unjob, so that I can unschool.

My experience with the ICC

I'm revisiting the past and bringing you to the present....the first visit is to my experience with the discipleship and recruitment in the International Churches of Christ (ICC), from my personal viewpoint. On July 2001, I began to study the bible. Throughout my life, I did learn somehow that God does listen to me. Now, I had to learn to listen to him. I had to learn to have an intimate relationship with God. I may actively seek to not engage in sin, but I really had to repent (change). Then, I learned about cults, and mind control when I checked out www.reveal.org. It’s my main source of personal knowledge about the controversial history of the church that I belonged to for about four months. I wasn't aware of this during the time I joined the church, but by the grace of God I found information to release me from this joy, I thought I had!

When I joined the church, I had a feeling of inadequacy that I couldn’t understand. My decisions were not valid to anyone or me in my imaginary world. I felt guilty and hurt, because I was thinking that I was not with God. I felt like I needed permission to do things, I was constantly reminded of how important it was to seek advice. I was forced to think differently in almost everyway. I was deceived to think that my good intentions were worthless. Was I being rebellious, and not with God? I was told that I was too independent and self-reliant, which are not sins. What I am doing now with my feelings of doubts is satanic, according to an ICC member. I’m battling against God.

When you are being brainwashed, you don’t even realize it. I was told that I was thoughtless, when I was trying to do my own research. In reality, what I want is to be right with God, I believe there is one. This woman believes that she has it all with her Bible, and that I’m not going to make it to heaven. “Making it to heaven requires making disciples” she stated. At the time, I didn't disagree with that statement, only with the procedure. She doesn’t understand that what she is doing, and therefore cannot really listen with an open heart. With the excuse that Satan is attacking God’s church, many of the members fail to realize or verify any of the criticism that the church receives.

Right now, I feel a freedom from religion. I feel strong spiritually, sad with a mixed happiness, grateful indeed for the experience that I did go through. This is me trying to get myself back, after I tried hard dying to myself. The phrase “dying to self” is commonly used in the ICC, so therefore I tried to change even in areas I did not need to. This is hard to understand, because the women I met were focused on serving God. I was blinded by an obscure faith in the Bible, interpreted a certain way. Bible study with these women is full of deceit by a predetermined study, guided by the thoughts of one man, who guides them thinking that they are the only people with great hearts, because they belong to the "kingdom" (terms will be later explained). They are the only people that are saved, and the rest are in darkness.

El propósito de este lugar es tratar de visitar el pasado y traerte al presente. Cuando le están lavando el cerebro a uno, uno no se da cuenta. Me dijeron que era insensata, cuando intentaba hacer mi propia investigación. En la realidad, lo qué deseo es estar correcta con Dios, yo creo que hay uno. Esta mujer cree que ella lo tiene todo con su Biblia, y que yo que no voy a llegar al cielo. "Llegar al cielo requiere hacer discípulos" ella indicó. Yo no tengo nada en contra de esa declaración, solamente con el procedimiento. Ella no se da cuenta de lo qué ella está haciendo, y por lo tanto no puede realmente para escuchar con un corazón abierto.

Okay, so this year I didn't get a raise, and my bills just got higher...
My outflow in cash this year started way higher than my income...
My credit limit was gettting maxed out...
I couln't handle it no more..

However, I am in the belief that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
and yes, I stopped paying one of the credit card given to me in an all caps name that looks like mine

I sent a letter to BoA last month, asking them by the Fair Debt Collections Act, I have the right to verify the loan, and they need to stop collections, until these requirements are met…
They need to send me per Mary croft, this is one of my sources….:
1. validation of the debt (the actual accounting);
2. verification of their claim against me (a sworn affidavit or even just a signed invoice); and,
3. a copy of the contract binding both parties.

So they wrote back stating that my request is outside of the guidelines of the Fair Credit Billing Act, and totally ignored the Fair Debt Collections Act, went ahead to threaten me that they would send me a judgment, and asked me to make my minimum payment by June 23, 2009, or call their Customer service dept.

So I wrote them a letter that their response was frivolous and without merit, and that they must respond to my initial request according to the Fair Debt Collections Act.

My significant other didn't want to send our son to school today because he lacks vaccines. I'm like okay, whatever. He thinks that I'm crazy, extreme. What I know, and I tell anyone is that the media tells a bunch of lies anyway. I don't think that the situation is a big deal, until it smacks me in the face. Okay, maybe I have not been really paying attention. I pay attention to the people around me, my friends, my family. Those are the things, people, and situations that to me are a big deal. How many people do you know have diabetes, heart problems, attention deficit disorder, asthma, and, they are not contagious, they are all autoimmune disorders, but yet everyone has them right! Is the food we eat, okay!!

I don't care for the swine flu for that same reason! Really...I don't care...I'll take my usual precautions eat homemade food as much as possible, wash my hands, etc. I made the reality around me, that what the law of attraction says, that you make the reality around you, and my reality is that people need to start thinking and making common sense. I think I'll go nuts in my huge world, before I start listening to the media again.

I think that the swine flue is a genetically engineered lab created disease, to make people submit to vaccinations. That way big pharma makes $$$, and the top at the few keep creating their dumb, beaf, and blind population with the their neurotoxin filled vaccines.

My significant other father is probably dead. He said that while he was incarcerated, he received the news that his mother had a stroke. He was never told what happened with his father.

His father was a cuatro player. He recounts vivid memories of his father trying to teach him how to play the cuatro.

He also says his father was born January 6, but he doesn't know the year.

He states that he was from either Ponce or Utuado.

I think is sad that he doesn't know where they buried him, if he died. When did he die? Where is his body, so he can pay him respects....

I say all this to say that sometimes, in order for any individual to move forward, he/she needs to let go of things, maybe persons. People are in your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Someone you may think is supposed to be with you for a lifetime, may not supposed to be there for a lifetime. They may be there just to teach you a lesson, and than you need to move on.

We are all one with the source (GOD), and everything that we do for the benefit of ourselves also benefits the universe, and everything we do to hurt ourselves, hurts the universe.

It is your responsibility to change, manipulate your actions, feelings, thoughts, behavior to achieve your desired status. The unconscious mind is always working through our sleep, like our hearts and breathing, we don’t need to tell it to keep doing it, somehow it harness powers and continues to work, we do this effortlessly...

When we set our minds to do anything, we need to do it, and finish it, despite of what gets on our way. We have to get it done. When we don’t it sends a message to our continuous working unconscious mind that we have failed, and this becomes a dreaded cycle. This is where the feeling of failure comes in.

I’m practicing what I call the PEER PRESSURE PRINCIPLE right now. What this means that I’m going to set some goals throughout this week to complete, and I’m going to announce some of them to ensure that I complete them. With this I hope to be able to change my life, and succeed at them.

You may be wondering why I wrote what I wrote about my partner, and this is because I want to focus on the positive things that have maintained our relationship now. I’m not sure that this is a lifetime relationship, even though we are tied together for a lifetime with our children. Sometime some relationships may leave you a feeling of being stuck in the same place, and this is where you may need to say, I need to let go.

I'm really disturbed...

I'm looking at the retirement fund that I have for work, and I don't need that crap later. I need that crap now.

My employer deposited $548.58 for the 4th quarter of 2008, and already (- $338.91) was the change in account value. For the 1st month, no deposit, (-$81.98), change in account value. The 3rd quarter there was a deposit of $365.72, and (-$217) change in account value. This does not include the $5 quarterly fee that is also a negative value.

I was thinking about going to HR and asking them that instead of funding a retirement fund for me, that they pay me that money. I don't want a retirement fund, I'll make my own when I'm ready. How do you think that will fly by? I need that money NOW not later!

As many of you know, I am a vaccine choice activist/autism advocate. I blame the aggressive US vaccine protocol for many of the illnesses we are seeing in our children...asthma, allergies, autism, ADD, ADHD, diabetes, arthritis, developmental delays etc....go to www.thinktwice.org and order Neil Miller's Vaccine Safety Guide (one of many books on the topic) and read for yourselves. My research has lead me to find that the unvaccinated populations of children are much healthier than the vaccinated children in the US population.

Keep in mind everyone---many many many countries DO NOT mandate vaccines for school attendance the way the US does. My foreign friends shake their heads at the rates of US vaccination! I feel it is mostly about money, not health. (I know that is shocking to say or believe in America these days!) Polio - at its height, I have read figures from 1 in 3000 to 1 in 1000 1% of polio victims had paralysis, over 95% had cold/flu symptoms and fully recovered Autism in NJ 1 in 60 boys

Asthma US 1 in 10 childrenDevelopmental disabilities 1 in 6 US children..........and on and on and on For years I have screamed that the US government and drug companies have refused to study the unvaccinated populations of children for autism and other illnesses. I was amazed to learn several weeks ago that the IACC Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee http://iacc.hhs.gov/ approved the below referenced funding to study vaccine safety including a formal study of the unvaccinated populations.

Who is IACC and what do they do? IACC is made up of eighteen seats. Twelve members are government representatives and six members are from the general public. IACC is responsible for developing and updating the Strategic Plan for Autism Research under the mandate of the Combating Autism Act. They decide which studies get funding from the $940 million that was allocated to autism research under the Act. The two vaccine research studies in question totaled $16 million, less than two percent of the available funds.

In the earlier vote of the IACC, as reported by David Kirby on the Huffington Post on January 5, 2009:

"In fact, two vaccine-autism studies have been approved by the IACC, which has proposed spending $16 million to:

1) "Study the effect of vaccines, vaccine components, and multiple vaccine administration in autism causation and severity through a variety of approaches, including cell and animal studies, and understand whether and how certain subpopulations in humans may be more susceptible to adverse effects of vaccines by 2011. Proposed costs: $6,000,000

2) Determine the feasibility and design an epidemiological study to determine if the health outcomes, including ASD, among various populations with vaccinated, unvaccinated, and alternatively vaccinated groups by 2011. Proposed costs: $10,000,000

Additionally, under "Research Opportunities," the panel also endorsed this objective:"Monitor the scientific literature regarding possible associations of vaccines and other environmental factors (e.g., ultrasound, pesticides, pollutants) with ASD to identify emerging opportunities for research and indicated studies." I was thrilled to read this news, HOWEVER, the practical side of me knew that it would be undone somehow!Get this-- Just a few days ago the IACC voted (the vote was not on any agenda and public members had no notice) and reversed its own decision of the previous month authorizing vaccine autism studies).

I have never taken a marketing class, but I have always read and seen information about illusion and perception. My life constantly changes.

My religion was Catholic...Now, I think of it as "sun" worshipping! Ha! I'm still spiritual, and I believe that we are one, yes you Jewish, you Christian, you Muslim, you Hindu, you Atheist, we are all part of the same energy and source...We all need plants to survive...My diet was omnivore...Now, I have a plant based diet, because my belief system change from it is bath for your health to we don't have dominion over animals, why would such intelligent creatures exist in the eart to die for us. We are constantly changing, growing, evolving, maturing, for some time I lived clubbing and chilling...now I live being a mom and working...I think that my experiences have shaped what I am today, and continue to shape what I am today, tomorrow doesn't matter, what matters is that I experience life today. Time is the only thing on my side...

Milk does not do the body good. Do you have allergies or asthma? Take the 2 week challenge, if it does not work, keep drinking milk. But do this for 2 weeks; no milk, cheese.

Notice everything that has milk, look at INGREDIENTS, every processed food must have it. It comes in many different forms, and with many different names such as butter, buttermilk, cream, ice cream, whey, milk powder, lactose, casein, albumin (sometimes you will see, caseinate, is the same, milk!)

Eat bananas, apples, and oranges instead of that cookie
Eat cereal but do it with almond milk, rice milk or soy milk.
Don’t eat chocolate, most of them have milk in them, if you find dairy free chocolate, have a blast!
Have a no cheese pizza, have all the other toppings instead.
Use Mayo, instead of butter on the bread, or use vegan Earth Balance or Smart Balance.
Do a search on not milk on the internet.

We also challenged Senators Obama and McCain to take up this issue more prominently and mentioned the requests of the vaccine safety and autism communities for two Executive Orders to be made by the next President within their first 100 days of office (moratorium on all new childhood vaccines until the current schedule is proven safe and removal of thimerosal from all vaccines by 1/1/2010).

Hopefully we’ll have information for you about another Fox segment the day of the rally. They are considering either an early morning show or having a truck on-site to cover the event.

Corn is in virtually every processed product on the market as corn syrup, corn starch, dextrose, citric acid, ascorbic acid, food waxes. Of course, corn is in vaccinations. In 1956, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) was discovered in chimpanzees [158]. According to Dr. Viera Scheibner, who stud-ied more than 30,000 pages of medical papers dealing with vaccination, RSV viruses "formed prominent contaminants in polio vaccines, and were soon detected in children [159]." They caused serious cold-like symptoms in small infants and babies who re-ceived the polio vaccine [159]. In 1961, the Journal of the American Medical Association published two studies confirming a causal relationship between RSV and "relatively severe lower respiratory tract illness [160]." The virus was found in 57 percent of infants with bronchiolitis or pneumonia, and in 12 percent of babies with a milder febrile respiratory disease [161]. Infected babies remained ill for three to five months [161]. RSV was also found to be contagious, and soon spread to adults where it has been linked to the common cold [162].

According to the birth plan, I had my son placed skin to skin to me at birth. Breastfeeding started a couple of hours after Victor was born, and continues today with full strength. For the past few weeks, we have been giving Victor a bottle, as he needs to learn how to use one because the fact is that he will be getting one when I happily return back to work.

I remember Nicolas struggled sucking on the bottle at first, after 6 weeks of breastfeeding at about 11 weeks old, I decided to try to give him a bottle again, and start pumping. At that time I realized that I didn't have enough in the freezer milk to go back to work anyway.

A learning experience it was, I know now what to avoid.

Nicolas had the bottle first, and he had them because the NICU wanted to know, how much he was eating. Nicolas arrived home, and I was still pumping and feeding, I didn't know what over pumping would do to me, or not pumping enough out, and I had mastitis. This is how I became a vegan, when I learn that cows get mastitis as well, yuck. My sister badly advised me that since I had a fever that I would need to stop nursing. My mother corrected my sister and said, no keep breastfeeding that child. I decided to do some searches, and I learned that goat and cows get antibiotics when this happens, and they give us that MILK. I'm drinking antibiotics, pesticides, in that WHITE stuff, the call the perfect food.

What I didn't realize was that it was best to just put Nicolas at the breast. That would avoid all supply issues. However, Nicolas was very sleepy, and he would fall asleep while eating, and get really angry when I put him down. After five weeks of trial and tribulations with Nicolas at the breast, I got in touch with La Leche League. I got some good advice, and breastfed Nicolas for 3 1/2 years.

Victor never fell asleep at the breast like his brother. That makes a huge difference in a full term and pre-term baby. This time around I have a freezer stash of about 60 ozs, and still growing. No experimental formula for this baby, only the best.

I read while breastfeeding Victor, Hirkani's Daughters by J.Hicks, and the Milk Memos by Cate Colburn-Smith and Andrea Serrette. La Leche League has these books at their Library. In addition, I recommend, Nursing Mother, Working Mother by Gail Pryor, I read this one when Nico was three months old, a little too late, but inspirational at best.

The Group B Strep Test is an test that is generally done about 35 to 37 weeks to find out if you are a carrier at the time of the test of the Group B Strep bacteria.

1) The problem with this test according to the materials that I have been reading is that one day the bacteria may be there, one day the bacteria may not be there.

The treatment for it if you are positive is antibiotic treatment (generally penincillin). If you are familiar with antibiotics you may or may not know that if you the strain of bacteria that you have is resistant to this or any other antibiotic. There are allergic reactions associated with antibiotics.

2) The other problem is that despite of the fact that you may receive antibiotic treatment while in labor, if you are not taking the right antibiotic for the bacteria that you have, the antibiotic treatment does not work.

The are thing that increase the chance of your baby getting infected such as cervical exam, rupture of the membranes, etc.

You can opt to say, I don't want the antibiotic treatment, but now they want to take the baby away for testing, for cultures...

Can you opt to say, I don't want my baby taken for testing now? What are the repercussions?

I feel that at my stage of pregnancy, over 35 weeks, with a baby that most likely weighing over 5 lbs, and doing alternative treatments for to ensure that the bacteria is not there when I and the baby are ready for birth that my son will be one of the thousands of babies that is not infected with this bacteria.

However the way the medical model is arranged, I will be treated like an infected person. If I did not do the test, it would have been the same way. I would still be treated as an infected person.

These are false alarms that I'm learning my occur starting at about the 8th week of pregnancy. I never experience them with my last pregnancy, only pressure waves cervidil and pitocin induced for about 12 hours.

The first time I realized that I was having a false alarm was this past Sunday, while I was grocery shopping. I was walking and it literally said STOP, I felt my stomach become a knot, and it was really uncomfortable, I couldn't move for the next few minutes, I was afraid to keep walking, thinking that it may happen again. Could this be early signs of labor?

No, they are not early signs of labor. I have not had that feeling since Sunday at around 6 p.m. I have not forgotten it...I decided to write and question others that may understand where I am coming from in the Yahoo Groups, and they gave me the confidence again to continue, this is part of the process....

At 32 weeks the baby is able to live outside the womb, if he is born pre-mature. I learned this with my first son, he was induced at 34 weeks, 4 days for low amnio. I'm approaching that time, the time where my other son was here with us, and I was not ready. I had a car seat, and I had a bassinet that was passed on from a good friend. I was blessed with a baby shower 4 days after my son's birth, where I chose from there my son's home coming outfit, I got plenty of blankets, oh, and how can I forget about the baby shower I had at work. I had the boppy pillow, cover, and some disposable diapers, bottles, etc. I received a used double pump by Medela.

According to the information I got from the midwife I saw at my 31 weeks appointment was that I was measuring 30 centimeters, it felt like I had enough fluid, the head was down, and everything seem to be coming together perfectly for me. She read my birth plan, and said that the hospital staff would be supportive, and that I should not have any problems with having my baby with me 24/7.

I have decided not to vaccinate my newborn baby because the risks are the side effects plus the contaminants inside the vaccines are not safe for my precious baby, nor were these for my older son, but I trusted the system. I feel as though for my first pregnancy, I became a victim of the system. The system took the choices from me, made them for me, and I just went along with them. A college education did not provide me with all the knowledge and common sense that I have with me through actually living and observing life. Today, I know how to really AVOID a c-section, today I know how to live life better, today I know how to feed myself better, today I know that I love myself and my family more than ever.

The first reason is basically that is what nature intended. The second reason it gives the parents a chance to bond with the newborn, slows down the drill. The third reason is because it may cause unusual lesion in the brains of infants. The fourth reason is the problem with Rh negative mothers, it is advised to wait until the placenta is delivered. The last reason is because the baby is designed to have the blood at birth, scientist have discovered t-cells which have cancer fighting properties in these blood...we shouldn't wait until 30 years later to give the blood to that baby, but now...to build strong bodies.

Part of my birth plan is to delay the clamping of the cord. I already advised my midwife of the cord clamping. I gave them the birth plan. When I arrive at the hospital, they should be aware of all my requests, such as not asking me for my level of pain, not asking me whether or not I want my epidural, not asking me whether my baby should be circumcised, not administering Vitamin K shots, or hep B, or eye ointment. I wrote that I don't want pacifiers and bottles for my baby. I took care of everything I could possibly think of using other people's ideas of birth plans, and merging them into what I needed for myself.

At 30 weeks, waiting for the next few 70 days or so...to pass by smoothly and happily.

The Baby MOVES me

I know that some people say that there should be a certain amount of movement per certain amount of time. I have no clue what those numbers are, what I do know is that the baby moves me. The stomach either trembles, or you can feel a kick, or a rub. Since I started this message the baby moved at least six times. There are times, when I'm walking, talking, or just simply moving around that he would literally stop me, and say "Aha! I'm here!!"

I feel the kicks higher in belly, which is good, it could mean that he is in the right position. He is kicking me above the belly button. Now, I'm telling him that he needs to face my back, and keep kicking up there where he is at. I tell him that is great that he is kicking, it doesn't bother me at all. Well it only bothers me when I feel movement right on top of my bladder, and I have to go ROOM...oh! If you have had pressure place in your bladder, you know how that goes. I'm terribly excited as time goes on and everything with the baby is so perfect. I'm increasing in size, gaining weight as I should be. I'm looking forward to birthing, and putting the hypnobabies into practice. I have about 10 weeks left. I'm just thinking positively that I am looking forward to meeting my second son real soon.

On Saturday, I had the opportunity to attend a great conference that creates awareness in breastfeeding. It was pretty interesting. I personally went to 4 groups. One of the groups discussed psychological impacts of breastfeeding. They went a little in depth as to why some women choose not to breastfeed or only breastfeed for a few weeks. The next workshop I went to was about co-sleeping, the family bed. The third workshop was about positive thinking (the author of this website, wwww.letthebabydrive.com). The last workshop I went to was about babywearing, different types of carriers and how to use them. In the middle of all this was speech presented by Dr. Sear's son about attachment parenting, inspirational to those of us who practice some sort of version of it.

La Leche League is a great program that helps ladies thru mother to mother support gain trust back into breastfeeding. I did with my son when he was 5 weeks of age, I had tons of doubt, and problems. Despite of the mastitis, the lack of support, and other things, I breastfed for about 3 1/2 years...basically almost two to three months ago, my son stopped mainly due to breastmilk probably decreasing due to my pregnancy, in which I was frequently complaining about tenderness. In all honesty if I was not pregnant, I think we would still be a breastfeeding duo.

I just received a new copy of the book "Back Labor No More" by Janie Mc Coy King. I started reading the book which includes a door hinge...yes, I said it includes a door hinge. The purpose of the door hinge is to illustrate to the mother, another reason why back labor is not good for the mother. The book describes a technique to help you use gravity to your advantage. The technique must be used without drugs that may prevent you to feel every sensation that you need to know that you are doing this right. Another tip, and another way to learn to birth better.

25 weeks

This is me at 25 weeks! It is as solid and healthy as it can possibly be. I am really excited looking toward the next fifteen weeks or so for the baby to arrive. Time is going by really fast, and I'm only getting bigger!!

In the next few days, I plan to be doing a birth plan...Birth plans can be very involved. The hypnobabies course that I am doing encourages everyone to do a birth plan. The birth plan addresses everything you need. It informs the nursing staff and the doctors where you are willing to be flexible or not. I think this will be an excellent opportunity for me to do more research once again, and ensure that I know what I am putting on the plan.

There are several subheadings that can be included in a birth plan. The birth plan can state to everyone what your preferences are as far as hydration, vaginal examinations, episiotomy, management of labor, about the umbilical cord, whether or not you choose to have certain vaccinations, especially if you do not want them, breastfeeding, visitors, etc. The birth plan can reflect your personality. It can be written in your own words.

I am going to keep my plan within 2 pages. I plan to use a size 12 font, and some sort of arial for easiness in reading. If you are pregnant, and plan to have a hospital birth, I suggest you start looking into the birth plan as well. You will be making informed decisions and choices even before you walk into the hospitals doors. Until later!

Breastfeeding!!

Often the people around me are surprised that I breastfed my son for 3 1/2 years. Heck, I even surprise myself. I didn't do it for myself. I did it for him to have one overall advantage that I didn't have, the perfect food for babies.

When I think about the whole experience, once I learned how to do it, how to measure it, and how to define success...It was a lovely and great experience. People are often asking me questions about what did I supplement with, how do you know he is getting enough, doesn't it hurt? In my initial experience, I had pain. I had aggravation. I couldn't tell if he was getting enough. Moreover, I didn't trust the natural process of breastfeeding. I learned luckily by reading, and meeting other moms who were breastfeeding through La Leche League.

I found all this wonderful information using the World Wide Web, and I posted about it on my other webpage, http://www.geocities.com/morelia78/bebe.html. I didn't write about mastitis, because I reserved that for my vegan page. That pain by itself was a world of its own, that lead me to do tons and tons of research about why I should really just stick to breastfeeding. It wasn't just about saving tons of money on FORMULA. It wasn't just about being the best thing for the ENVIRONMENT. Do you know how much trash you produce, just trying to feed your baby the CONVENIENT FOOD?? It is about the fact that we don't know what nutrients breast milk contains and it was meant for the baby. BREAST MILK serves to prepare the immune system, provides emotional support, and does many invisible and miraculous things for your baby.

I am not a Breastfeeding NUT. What I hope other would do is research, learn to think independently, and do what is best under EVERY SINGLE circumstance. If you do not know what your options are, you are simply letting others decide for you.

It is a great and awesome feeling to know that the baby is kicking and moving inside of me. It is absolutely wonderful to know that the body is working to its maximum potential and developing a strong and healthy baby.

Hypnobabies
I finally started class #2, and I'm practically done with this class. I have done the first part 3 times, and the second part 2 times, and I have been doing the affirmations. The great part about it was that I feel that somehow it is doing what it is supposed to do, because when the session is done, I wake up!! I think I'm going into hypnotic amnesia.

Guide to a Better Birth
I have been looking at Henci Goer's book, and reading the First Concensus Initiative of the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services (CIMS). This has philosophical principles that address the issues of movement during labor, eating while in labor, interventions, breastfeeding, VBAC, etc. I wish I would have read half of what I have read for this pregnancy...I feel so much prepared, informed, and relaxed about the outcome that I will have when the baby comes...

The Vaccine Guide
A good person told me a few weeks ago to get this book to make informed decisions about vaccinations. I received a copy of the book "The Vaccine Guide: Risk and Benefits for Children and Adults" by Randall Neustaedter, OMD. This book is a very comprehensive book that discusses the incidence and likelihood of diseases for which we receive immunizations. It also discusses the legal requirements and different legal exemptions that can be possibly used (philosophical, medical and religious). When discussing legal exemptions he quotes a book written by T. Finn (1983) called "Dangers of Compulsory Immunizations: How to Avoid them Legally" in which he states that you can prevent going to litigation by asking the school board, the hospital, and the physician administering the vaccine that the vaccine will not cause disease, death or injurious side effects. In essence, if the document is worded correctly, not one person can guarantee and sign a paper stating that the vaccine is completely safe, and the child would be allowed to go to class.

23 weeks and still counting!

I feel a little lack of support from the baby's dad regarding the hypnobabies... he is not convinced yet. I cannot be anything but convinced, because the mind is powerful, and what you believe is what you achieve. I believed that I was going to graduate from college, and I did. I believe that I am going to do anything and everything that I set my mind to do.

I want to have support for my birthing. I feel that I need support. So, I tell my son, "Are you going to help mommy? Are you going to help mommy in her birthing time?" He responds, "Yeah, I help mommy by putting birthday cake in her nose!!" :) I had to laugh, and see his comparison of birthday with birthing. They have the same root word, he was right!!

I just feel that if I get the courage, who knows if I will end up having one of the unassisted births. I like to read the positive birth stories, and have a great appreciation for understanding how a woman feels the need to concentrate and not be bothered by distractions, questions, etc that will not happen the longer I stay at home, and stay quiet, to myself.

Sometime during the night, it started to snow here in New Jersey and the tri-state area. When we woke up at 6:30 am, there was plenty of snow in the ground as you can see in the pictures. One of the pictures is Nico trying to clean the car, and the dog watching.

I had to call in at 7 am and at that time they said they had a delayed opening of one hour. I needed to be at work, but that made me depressed because I couldn't stand the idea of driving for 25 miles in this type of weather. Luckily, my co-worker called me at about 9 am, and asked me if I had left yet, I was planning to catch the train, and was getting ready to walk out the door. She called to tell me that they updated the message and CLOSED for the day. What a relief!! I felt like a ton of bricks had fallen off my back. However, not in its entirety, because I know that I have to do the work I didn't do TODAY on MONDAY...YIKES!!!

I haven't spoken about the dog. She is a really cute German Shepperd and Rottweiler mix (in Spanish is Pastor Aleman mixto con .....). We found her lost and no one claimed her, plus she had no collar on. We decided to keep her in the house.

Keeping a positive and stress free mindset throughout your pregnancy seems to be very important. I was reading the birth stories in the book, "Journey Into Motherhood" that I mentioned before in a previous blog, and they are mostly inspiring, and unlimited. They continuously refer you to think positive, stand your ground, be assertive and informed. These women read before their birthing time, and were able to make effective and sound decisions about what they wanted to have for their birth. Eventually, each and everyone of these women went onto having peaceful and great satisfying births.

As for the circumcision controversy, I decided a long time ago that my first son was not going to be circumcised. They asked me in the hospital about 3 times, and I believe this was the minimum. Well, they may have asked me while I was unconscious. I guess they wanted to make that extra $$$. None of my other children if I have more boys will be cut. I believed that if boys were meant to be without the skin, they would not have the extra skin, it serves it's purpose. The bible talks about circumcision, is really disturbing. It is somewhere in the Genesis chapters, where I read about its purpose and I was appalled. According to some major activists, circumcision is a cruel and unnecessary act. I feel that this website is compelling, and informative nocirc.org when it comes to discussing reasons for not doing a circumcission. I post the website against circumcission, but of course you can always find your pro websites. Personally, I do not want to know where they are.

I'm still researching the vaccination issue. I'm going to see two actual places that sell cloth diapers, so that I may feel them, hopefully compare prices, and different materials. Thanks for listening to my rant.

The baby is moving around like crazy. I can feel him as I type, moving in his personal private pool, stretching it out...I'm really looking like a pregnant woman now...it is amazing to be in this stage!!

This weekend I have spent some time researching several different issues...

Cloth diapers and Vaccinations...

Well the whole cloth diapering thing is becoming more clear, I think the least expensive method for me would be to use pre-folds. There are sooo many choices, Indian, Chinese, unbleached, bleached, and the list goes on...Than there are the covers, Bummis, Aristocrats, I can't remember them, too many tooo mention. There is the issue about how many diapers do I need, how do you wash them? Do I need to use a Snappi? How do I carry these things around? Websites have SOOO much information is not even funny....When I make decision, I'll probably let you know....

Then there are the vaccination issues...I have read on some websites that vaccinations contain elective aborted fetal tissue (human diploid), kidney tissue from monkeys, chicken embryo, gelatin, I'm not even talking about the chemicals that are causing attention in the media, the preservative mercury which has been linked to autism. Are you aware that there is a National Vaccine Compensation Program? It was created because are children were getting injured with vaccinations...HELLO!! We are indoctrinated with the ideas that VACCINES are necessary, but they are actually experimental, and poorly tested. Some activists state that pharmaceutical companies bribe legislators with tons of money and have made people believe that this things are MANDATORY. When we put our children into school, the state gets money for each vaccinated child, and the state pushes the parent to vaccinate children, in order to get more funding, right, does that sound right? The whole process start with the day the baby is born with the Vitamin K shot, the eye ointment and the Hep shot at the hospital, and it continues on with the well visits. The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth, by Henci Goer
This book is basically about medical stories and I think it basically tries to disect the truth from myth.

Ina May's Guide to Childbirth, by Ina May Gaskin
From looking at the contents, the first half of the book seems to be birth stories, the other half educational tools for birth. It has excellent reviews.

Journey into Motherhood: Inspirational Stories of Natural Birth, by Sheri L. Minelli
From my personal understanding this book has multiple birth stories, and accounts from birthing mothers, and their partners. I have read about 3 or 4 stories. They give advice, and provide what they used to prepare for birthing at the end of each story. Another way to prepare for a positive birth.

I have only looked at the books briefly, and I can't read them all at once....I think I'm done buying books for now...I'm going to focus on reading them. Finally someone read to me the "Bubble of Peace" However, I have not started the Class #2. I will this weekend...I think Saturday for the first part, and Sunday for the second...and I will start Class #3 next Saturday. I will dwell, and do my birth affirmations for the rest of the week and continue to relax to Class #1.

Anyway, I wanted to let anyone know what I have done to prepare myself for my next birth, hopefully with the intentions that if everything is successful, as I desire, you can use similar tools to help yourself, or better tools...The point is to continue to learn and grow.

It's official, I'm 19 weeks!

I'm getting close to my half-way mark. I can feel the baby move more often, especially when I am resting, and relaxing, whether it is laying down or sitting. I found my 7th edition book that I bought a couple of years back of "The Womanly Art of Breastfeeding" It is one of the recommened readings for Hypnobabies. I only went through the 1st class, I have not moved on to the 2nd class. Someone is supposed to read me the "Bubble of Peace" but they have not done that yet. They want to practice reading it, but they don't practice it. I don't like to rely on anyone for anything....I NEED a back up plan, immediately.

This week I found this interesting You-tube Video, through someone's favorites, I forgot who....It's basically teaching you the positions to birth and labor, I believe it's a "How to" video.

I have about 3 different due dates, that I like to play around with. The one that I go by is my personal due date, or the day I think I conceive, which would be June 24, 2008. The other 2 dates, are the ultrasound date, and the last day of my menstrual period (LMP). The midwives are using the LMP date, which is great, just in case, I go past the due date, June 28, 2008. The other date is the one that the original OB had given me due to the size of the baby, which is June 22, 2008. I'm glad I ran away from there, that would have called for an early c-section, before the baby was completely cooked. The official, is the LMP, which today marks 19 weeks. That puts me one week shy from the mid-way mark!!! Yikes!!

I finally received a used copy of the book, "Mind Over Labor" written by Carl Jones, that I purchased from e-bay. The book has awesome information...In the 1st two chapters, it discussed the spacing of pressure waves (contractions), what would be the ideal situation for a mother to birth peacefully, as well as giving practical suggestions to the partner. I know that reading more will definitely continue to educate, and inspire me for the rest of my pregnancy. I also had the opportunity to listen to "Your Body, Your Birth" by Lynn M. Griesemer, from http://www.unassistedhomebirth.com. Which within it's body, quoted Carl Jones.

I haven't been able to do the hypnobabies study course, but I will make an attempt again to start this week. Each day, I get distracted by a multitude of things, and I hope to be able to focus, and get everything done. I can feel the baby move at times, it feels like litte butterflies in my lower belly, and I know the baby is alive and well. I can't wait to be able to hold this baby in my arms.

Currently I received my copy of Hypnobabies, and I'm looking forward to doing the homestudy course.

I'm having a hard time with my pants already, they feel really tight around the waist, and I need to start wearing pants that stretch around the waist. I don't look to pregnant yet to the general public, but perhaps like I'm a little heavier that I was. This past weekend I have noticed that the nausea has subsided, and I feel a lot better, thought I still have a bad taste in the mouth, is not as bad, or as excruciating as it had been for most of November, and the beginning of December.

I spent the holidays doing my best at relaxing, althought I need to work on it a whole lot more, and I'm looking forward to my trip to Puerto Rico, so that I may get some sun.

13 weeks are coming

This past weekend I spent it again filled with nauseating feelings and mood swings...I am very emotional.

I began to read a copy of a little script I got from e-bay called, "I CAN DO THIS" by Hygeia Halfmoon-unassisted childbirth. It was definitely a pleasant read, and I plan to keep it around me until I give birth. It was the story of a lady who had 3 births, a hospital birth that ended up in a c-section, and a medically unassited VBAC, and finally the purpose for the book, the unassisted birth in the presence of her other 2 daughters. It was definitely uplifting....

I plan to indulge myself in as many positive birth stories as possible, if you know of any, please share with me...Thanks!

the 9 week visit

I hadn't spoken much about the baby, because they usually say to wait until the end of the 1st trimester....Well, at the end of 12 weeks, it will be pretty much the end of the 1st Trimester...

In what I think might have been the 4th week of my pregnancy, I began to suspect that I was pregnant, I did the home pregnancy test, and it was positive. Than at about 5 weeks, I decided to just go ahead to the regular OB/GYN, after all, the doctor did say that he was doing a VBAC.

Well, I had a blood test, which indicated that I was 5 weeks pregnant, and they told me to return in 2 weeks, I think I returned in about 3 weeks for the ultrasound. The ultrasound indicated that I was 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant....from what I could see, it looked like the shape of a head and body, wiggling around in my uterus. It was perfectly coming together...The doctor said you "have" to come back from some test during the 11 to 13 weeks of pregnancy, and since you had a c-section, you are automatically scheduled for a c-section. He stated, "I don't know any other physicians at St. Barnabas Medical Center who do VBAC, because they are extremely dangerous."

As you can see, I had to run from there as far as possible...

I have elected not to do that chromosonal testing from 11 to 13 weeks. First of all, if it indicates that the child has a certain percentage of having any type of problem, I'm not going to elect an abortion, and science has not developed anything special to prevent or change the situation. Why poke myself unecessarily....I thought...All these pregnancy tests are optional folks, you don't HAVE to do anything.

Anyway, I decided to go see a CNM and an OB, and right now, I'm sticking the CNM...I think I'll have a better learning experience, and I should be able to GESTATE IN PEACE....
